Dick C. SaundersFounder, Chairman of the Board & Treasurer

Richard "Dick" C. Saunders

Dick Saunders is the founder of Saunders Construction, Inc. and currently serves as its Chairman of the Board and Treasurer. After several years with R. N. Fenton Construction, Saunders started his own company in 1972. Since that time, Saunders Construction has helped shape the landscape of Colorado’s Front Range and beyond. Dick provides strong leadership to the board of directors and remains active and up-to-date in all aspects of the company’s significant activities. Dick also lends much of his time to help serve and better the communities in which we live and work. He serves on numerous boards focusing on children, education, and mental health and is a long-time supporter of various organizations and civic functions, such as the Associated General Contractors of America, Mental Health America of Colorado, Colorado Ballet, Colorado UPLIFT, Kempe Children’s Foundation, and many more. His honors and awards are numerous, and in recent years have included the Arthritis Foundation’s Evening of Honors Gala Honoree, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man of the Year, Colorado Springs Christian School Lion’s Heart Award, and First Plymouth Foundation Caring Award.


John P. BeeblePresident & CEO

John P. Beeble

John Beeble is the President & CEO of Saunders Construction, Inc. John has spent his entire professional career in the Colorado construction and real estate industries, coming to work for Saunders in 1995. After working in estimating, business development, and management, Dick Saunders selected John as his successor in 2001. John’s passion for both leadership and organizational design has brought him to where he is today. Under John’s leadership, Saunders has received several distinctions in both the construction industry and the business community at large, including being recognized as one of the fastest growing businesses in Colorado and an induction into the American Subcontractors Association (ASA) Hall of Fame. Saunders is consistently in the top rankings of contractors in the region, and in 2008 was honored as the top contractor by revenue in the state. John also makes it a priority to give back to the community. He is a current member of the World Presidents Organization (WPO), serves on the board for the Associated General Contractors (AGC) and the Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation, and is the Chair for the Metro Denver Economic Development Council’s Executive Committee and the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) Board of Trustees.


Gregory A. SchmidtExecutive Vice President

Gregory A. Schmidt

Greg Schmidt has worked in construction since 1991 and joined Saunders in 1994. He has held positions such as staff engineer, estimator, project manager, preconstruction manager, director of business development, senior vice president of business development and preconstruction services, and his current role as Executive Vice President. Greg has responsibility for the company’s performance in the areas of business development, preconstruction services, and operations. He works closely with the company’s Business Group Leaders on strategy development, competitive differentiation, and new service development. Greg’s primary focus is on ensuring the company continues to deliver on its commitment to customer care and collaboration. He is a stockholder/owner, member of the management team, and a member of the Board of Directors.


Darrell L. EastwoodChief Operating Officer

Darrell L. Eastwood

Darrell Eastwood began his construction career in 1974, and he has been with Saunders Construction since 1984. Darrell is a stockholder in the company and a member of the corporate management team. In 1996, he was chosen as Project Manager of the Year by the American Subcontractors Association (ASA). In 2003, he served as Chairman of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Colorado. He currently serves as Chairman of the Professional Development Advisory Board for the Construction Management Department at Colorado State University.


David E. AlbertsChief Financial Officer

David E. Alberts

Dave Alberts has been in the commercial construction industry for over 28 years and became Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Saunders in 2006. As a senior member of Saunders’ management team, Dave directs the strategic planning of the organization from the financial perspective by developing financial models, interpreting financial data, and implementing initiatives that support the advancement of the Saunders Vision and Mission. He is the overall manager of Saunders’ finance & accounting, human resources, and information technology departments and acts as Saunders’ corporate Secretary. Dave is a graduate of Mesa State College, a member of the Construction Financial Management Association, and is on the Board of Directors for the Denver Street School.
