Longmont United Hospital
The multi-phase expansion and relocation project at Longmont United Hospital responded to an increasing need for growth at the existing facility. This included a new Emergency Department Tower addition, expansion of the existing Central Utility Plant as well as the relocation of the Loading Dock and Material Management Building and was completed within 20 months.
The Emergency Department Tower expansion consists of a new two-story, 60,000 sf structure. The Tower includes 4 trauma rooms, 23 treatment rooms, decontamination showers, psychiatric evaluation and holding area, staff work areas and central nurse station. The Central Utility Plant addition includes an 8,870 s.f., two-story expansion to increase emergency power systems and switchgear, chilled and hot water production, and utility extensions to support the new Emergency Department Tower. To accommodate the expansion, the Loading Dock and Material Management Building were relocated and rebuilt to 7,154 sf This facility meets the standards set by LEED, the USGBC and the Green Guide for Healthcare.
